Cemu: Loading Mods for Breath of the Wild

Ripped from my GameBanana Guide, excuse the formatting:

    https://gamebanana.com/tuts/12493

If the text is hard to read here, please visit the above link instead.

    General Information:

This is relatively short and sweet, so long as you already have Wii U: Breath of the Wild's
Game and Update Data dumped to your PC or removable media (SD/USB Drive).
It's possible to dump the game and then Update Data from your Wii U using:

WUDump (Click) or alternatively FTPiiu Everywhere (Click.)

1a. To compress WUD to WUX: WUD Compression Tool (Click.)
(This saves you oodles of HDD space.)

1b. Alternatively if you want RPX, use Uwizard (Click.) to unpack.**

    2. To unpack WUD Update Data: Uwizard (Click.)
(This uses Crediar's DiscU to decrypt.)**

**When Title Keys are required, Google: "WiiU Title Key"

Vanilla Game and Update Data must be kept separate!

Store the Game on any drive you wish. Update Data should be temporarily stored on
your Desktop or within your Cemu folder.

    Default: You will have to point Cemu to the game each time you attempt to run it;
as of this writing, (Cemu 1.9.1), there is no GUI directory for your games to be displayed.

Alternative: You can create a shortcut for Cemu.exe, rename if desired, and edit
it's [Right-click --> Properties] to boot BotW immediately with this shortcut.

To do so, use the following argument string:

Edit the example string to match your directories.

    "C:\yourCemuExeDirectory" -g "C:\yourGameRPXlocation"

    For example:

    "C:\Users\serfr\Desktop\Cemu 1.9.0\Cemu.exe" -g "C:\Users\serfr\Desktop\Cemu 1.9.0\CEMU Games\The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild [ALZP01]\code\U-King.rpx"
    Installing Game Updates:

Mods currently require you to have Breath of the Wild updated,
as trying to run the Vanilla game will fail even without mods.

Mods, currently, are typically placed in the Update Data directory.
Update Data is required to be downloaded with Uwizrad, then
    unpacked into Loadiine format.

The Update Data directory for Cemu will only exist if you manually
add the Update Data to Cemu following these specific instructions:

    Preparing for Cemu:
    1. To load WUD & WUX in Cemu you require Title Keys.
    2. Edit your Cemu/keys.txt to include the Title Keys.
    3. Google: "WiiU Title Key"

    1. Start your game in the emulator and close the emulator.
    2. Open log.txt in the Cemu folder, look for the line:
      Mounting local storage (updates): <cemu>\mlc01\usr\title\00050000\101C9#00\
    3. Return to your Cemu folder and navigate to mlc01\usr\title and if they
do not exist, create the 00050000 folder and within it, create the 101C9#00 folder.
    4. In the newly created folder .\101C9#00\ you can put the Update Data, which should consist of 3 folders. (Code, Content, Meta)

The region of your game will determine the TitleID required for the folder name in the directory:

    EUR: 101C9500
    USA: 101C9400

The finished Update Data directory should look like this:

    <cemuFolder>\mlc01\usr\title\00050000\101C9#00\ code
    <cemuFolder>\mlc01\usr\title\00050000\101C9#00\ content
    <cemuFolder>\mlc01\usr\title\00050000\101C9#00\ meta

Once you have started the game and have verified that your update has been successful,
(you can see the Game Version on the bottom-right corner of the Title Screen,) you may
then close Cemu and begin the next section.
    a. Installing Mods that include the directory:

Installing the mods that have the Cemu mlc01 directory by default is extremely simple.
Make sure to keep a backup of the Update Data stored somewhere for later use.
This is for if you wish to revert changes made by mods.

The majority of mods posted will already have an mlc01 Folder to extract into your Cemu
directory. When you are asked if you would like to replace the files, accept all of the changes.

    Preparing for Cemu:
    1. To load WUD & WUX in Cemu you require Title Keys.
    2. Edit your Cemu/keys.txt to include the Title Keys.
    3. Google: "WiiU Title Key"

You're now ready to load the game in Cemu and see the changes in action. Be aware
that there may be some graphical glitches while the mod renders into the game shaderCache.
    b. Installing Mods by hand, into the directory:

(Make sure to keep a backup of your Update Data to allow you to revert changes.)

Some mods may come in packs or may lack the directory structure in order to just
drag and drop them into place. You may either want specific mods out of the pack
or you might have to put the mods into the directed folder on your own.

Open up your BotW Update Data directory as mentioned before, then open up the Content folder.
This is where most (if not all) mods will be placed, depending on their next sub-directory.

    <cemuFolder>\mlc01\usr\title\00050000\101C9#00\ content

Depending on the Mod nature and what it replaces, the folder structure is as follows:

    • Actor
    • Effect
    • Event
    • Font
    • Game
    • Layout
    • Local
    • Map
    • Model
    • Movie
    • NavMesh
    • Pack
    • Physics
    • Sound
    • System
    • Terrain
    • UI
    • Voice

The blue highlighted folders are those that are most used for standard mods currently released.
This is subject to change with time as modding becomes more versatile.

    For example:

Weapon, Shield, Armor, & Sheath mods will go into Model.
OST Sound mods will go into Sound -> Resource -> Stream.
UI Inventory Icon mods will go into UI -> StockUI.

Simply copy and paste the mod into the required folder. Replace any files in question.

Be aware that there
may be some graphical glitches while the mod renders into the game shaderCache.
    Troubleshooting:

If you're having trouble getting a mod to load...

    1. Verify the directory structure is ok. (i.e. an extra mlc01 in mlc01 will cause problems)
    2. Verify that you replaced any files it may need to overwrite.
    3. See if any other users are having an issue in the mod comments.
    4. If you're still having problems, ask on the Discord.
